“IT’LL BE A FULL THOROUGHFARE.” "WITH THE COMPLETION OF UNIVERSAL AND EVERWELL AND PANTHER CREEK PARKWAY BEING ABOUT HALFWAY DONE, THIS IS GOING TO BE ONE OF THE LAST BIG THOROUGHFARES BUILT.” CURRENTLY PGA PARKWAY IS 6 LANES FROM CHAMPIONSHIP DRIVE IN NORTHWEST FRISCO TO PRESTON ROAD.
“THIS PROJECT IS JUST BEGINNING CONSTRUCTION.” CREWS ARE NOW EXPANDING THE ROADWAY FROM PRESTON ROAD EAST TO COIT ROAD FROM 2 TO 6 LANES.
“THE ROADWAY NOT ONLY SERVES EXISTING RESIDENTS, BUT ALSO IT COUNTS FOR FUTURE DEVELOPMENT." THE SOUTH SIDE OF PGA PARKWAY HAS QUITE A FEW SINGLE-FAMILY DEVELOPMENTS THAT ARE COMPLETED AS WELL AS A NUMBER THAT ARE ONGOING.” PLUS THERE IS MORE LAND NORTH OF PGA PARKWAY THAT COULD BE DEVELOPED IN THE FUTURE.
“IN ADDITION TO THE 6 LANES OF ROAD, WE’RE ALSO DOING A 36-INCH WATERLINE ALL THE WAY ALONG WITH WHOLE THOROUGHFARE TO HELP SUPPLY WATER TO THE NORTHSIDE OF THE CITY.” THE PROJECT IS EXPECTED TO TAKE ABOUT 2 YEARS TO COMPLETE AND THE ROADWAY WILL BE BUILT IN PHASES.
"AS CONSTRUCTION CONTINUES, THERE WILL BE CLOSURES ON AND OFF, BUT THE INTENT IS TO KEEP AT LEAST 2 LANES OF TRAFFIC THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE PROJECT.” IF AND WHEN THOSE CLOSURES HAPPEN, THEY WILL BE BETWEEN 9 A.M. AND 3:30 P.M.
“AS YOU’RE DRIVING THROUGH ANY CONSTRUCTION AREA, WE ASK THAT YOU USE CAUTION.
AND OF COURSE AS PEOPLE ARE ACTIVELY WORKING, WE DO ASK THAT YOU SLOW DOWN.” THE PROJECT WILL COST ABOUT $30 MILLION. FUNDING WILL COME FROM SEVERAL SOURCES INCLUDING A CONTRIBUTION FROM COLLIN COUNTY, DEVELOPER IMPACT FEES AND VOTER APPROVED BONDS.
