“WE’RE EXCITED TO SEE NEW PAVEMENT HITTING THE GROUND.” “RIGHT NOW WE ARE PAVING THE MAIN LANES OF UNIVERSAL PARKWAY AND FROM THERE THE CONTRACTOR IS GOING TO TURN UP NORTH AND PAVE FRISCO STREET.” CREWS HAVE REACHED A CONSTRUCTION MILESTONE CONNECTING TWO ROADS WITHIN THE FIELDS DEVELOPMENT.

“UNIVERSAL PARKWAY IS A 6-LANE DIVIDED ROADWAY THAT EXTENDS FROM NORTHBOUND DALLAS PARKWAY AROUND TO THE EXTENSION OF PANTHER CREEK, PROVIDING AN IMPORTANT EAST WEST CONNECTION TO THE EXTENSION OF PANTHER CREEK PARKWAY.” UNIVERSAL PARKWAY WILL BE THE NORTHEAST BORDER OF THE FUTURE UNIVERSAL KIDS RESORT.

“ALSO INCLUDED WITH THE PROJECT IS THE EXTENSION OF FRISCO STREET AS A 2-LANE ROADWAY FROM UNIVERSAL PARKWAY UP ABOUT A MILE AND A HALF NORTH TO PGA PARKWAY.” FRISCO STREET WILL HAVE 2 ROUNDABOUTS AS WELL AS A BRIDGE.

ONCE THE STREETS ARE PAVED, CREWS WILL INSTALL LANDSCAPING, IRRIGATION AND STREET LIGHTS.

“BOTH UNIVERSAL PARKWAY AND FRISCO STREET ARE FACILITATING THE INCOMING UNIVERSAL KIDS RESORT THEME PARK AS WELL AS THE FIELDS RESIDENTIAL, RETAIL AND OFFICE SPACE DEVELOPMENTS.” THIS ROADWAY PROJECT HAS A CONSTRUCTION COST OF ABOUT $34 MILLION, PAID UP FRONT BY THE DEVELOPER.

ONCE COMPLETE, THE CITY WILL REIMBURSE THE DEVELOPER A MAJORITY OF THE COST USING A COMBINATION OF BONDS, IMPACT FEES AND TAXES COLLECTED THROUGH REINVESTMENT ON THE LAND.

“IT IS A HUGE COLLABORATIVE PROCESS TO MAKE IT ALL HAPPEN, KEEP IT ON TIME, KEEP IT ON BUDGET." UNIVERSAL PARKWAY AND FRISCO STREET ARE EXPECTED TO BE FINISHED AND OPEN BY THE END OF THE YEAR.
