Consider and Act on a Resolution approving the submission of a grant application to the US Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) funded under the Byrne Memorial Competitive Grant and the Byrne Justice Assistance Grant Programs and authorizing the submission of the grant application by the City Manager or his designee. The grant proposal is for two dedicated Police Officer to reinstitute and expand the program at all the apartment complexes and closely interact with residents of the apartment complexes located on the Stonebrook Parkway Corridor. The three year funding period for this grant is from October 1st, 2013 ? September 30th, 2016, not to exceed $700,000. (Police/DS)

Consider and Act on a Resolution approving the submission of a grant application to the North Central Texas Council of Governments and the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division for the funding under the Victims of Crime Act Grant Program and authorizing the submission of the grant application by the City Manager. The grant proposal is to partner with the Collin County Sheriff?s Office to share a full-time Victim Advocate dedicated to working with victims of violent crimes.
