If awarded this grant, it would continue to fund a grant funded position. The funding period for this grant is from September 1, 2013 ? August 31, 2014, the funding amount for this project is not to exceed $80,000. (Police/DS)

Consider and Act on a Resolution approving the submission of a grant application to the North Central Texas Council of Governments and the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division for the funding under the Criminal Justice Grant Program and authorizing the submission of the grant application by the City Manager or his designee. The grant proposal is for one stationary and one desktop LiveScan? digital fingerprint scanners for a total of $62,590. (Police/DS)

Consider and Act on a Resolution approving the submission of a grant application to the US Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) funded under the Byrne Criminal Justice Innovation Program Competitive Grant and the Byrne Justice Assistance Grant Programs and authorizing the submission of the grant application by the City Manager. The grant proposal is for a Sergeant and two dedicated Police Officers to design, plan and implement a Neighborhood Policing Initiative to closely interact with residents of the area known as ?Old Donation?. The three year funding period for this grant is from October 1, 2013 ? September 30, 2016, not to exceed $1,000,000. (Police/DS)
